Style for Miles..

I recently revisited what I once thought was a hopeless childhood dream: skateboarding!! I’ve always had such immense infatuation with the sport (yes, it is a sport despite what your mom tells you) but never actually pursued it for various reasons, until a few months ago.

So, in honor of me finally skateboarding, I decided to do a piece on how to dress like a skateboarder-off-duty and since outfit inspiration can come from anywhere, today it comes in the form of three skateboarders I follow on Instagram.

I'm went with a white

The first skateboarder I got inspiration from is Lacey Baker. Lacey has a unique technical style on the board and when it comes to the way she dresses, she usually goes for monochromatic choices; in other words black ery'thang or white ery'thang!! Since I'm allergic to the color black in that when I wear a black article of clothing I feel internally sick, I decided to do her white-on-white look.

I tucked in a white tee in some loose fit side pocketed pants and then added some gold earrings for contrast. Lacey would have probably paired this with some sneaks but I went with white flatform slides instead.

Next, I investigated the style of no other than Luan Olivera. Luan is an absolute skateboarding legend and he quickly became a fan favorite when he competed in his first international contest back in 2008.

Style wise, he is known for wearing his signature khakis and a graphic tee so I wore one of my favorite shirts at the moment the "First Try" shirt paired with some buckle pleated trousers.

Last but not least, I looked at Angelo Tomasino who's a skater that I  just recently started following. His style is more laid back and consists of many loose fitting outfits. Unlike Lacey and Luan, Yungjello doesn't shy away from the use of bold vibrant colors to construct his looks.

I tried to reimagine his pink-on-pink look and so I put together a pair of high waist flowing striped pants with a pink t-shirt.

Gotta go skate now, K byeee.
